Holiday Mini Sessions in Toronto
Holiday Mini Sessions are here! These are great for families who cannot commit to a full session (1 hour) or are just looking for a few updated images of their family with a holiday themed backdrop. It gives new clients a glimpse of the Lucy Chang Photography experience and old clients a chance for us to create beautiful artwork and update their family photos. Many of our clients wait the whole year for this limited event (or two years since I do not offer Holiday Minis every year) and so the time slots fill up quickly each time this is offered.
At $300, the sessions are shorter and very fast paced with a duration capped at 20 minutes, and you may choose 6 images with the option to purchase more after viewing them on the online proofing gallery.
This year, for the first time ever, we are offering a special package that includes ALL the images. You don't have to stress about making your photo selections, for $400, you can just take them all! This special package must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Again, this year we will be hosting the holiday minis at a rented studio in Markham. Sunday Sunday Studio is located at Unit 202 - 37 Main Street North, Markham, Ontario. Please google how long of a drive it may take you to reach the studio and arrive 10 minutes earlier in case you need to freshen up before your session begin.

What are the date for the Holiday Minis 2024?
We are offering 3 dates this year. Saturday October 19th, Saturday November 9th, and Saturday November 23rd. Please scroll all the way to the bottom if you are ready to reserve your date and time slot.
Do the Holiday Mini Sessions Have to Be Family Photos?
The Holiday Mini Sessions are typically reserved for families to update their family photos, however, you may use it for any type of portrait session. Please keep in mind the backdrops ARE holiday themed so if you're okay with it, you can have a couples session, maternity session, or even a pets session. The only portrait session we do not allow is a newborn session as those are typically done with specialized props and equipments, and take longer to document.
Is there a limit on family members in the Mini Session Photos?
Yes. The holiday mini sessions are limited to immediate families only and up to 5 people. The backdrops are of a certain size so anything more than 5 people may not fit in all together in a photo.
What should I wear to my mini session?
We do not offer outfits for clients for Holiday Mini Sessions. Please come in dressed and ready to go. Please note only indoor shoes are allowed or we will have to ask you to remove your shoes. For pets, please wipe their paws before you put them down on the floor. You are responsible to clean up after any mess you and your party makes. We recommend wearing clothing that matches or compliments everyone in the photo. This does not necessarily mean that everything needs to be the same colour, but the style and colours should look intentional. Please try to avoid big visible logos or words on your outfits. Solid colours are preferable. To help you decide, please consider the following:
- Should we go with formal, casual or something in between? Avoid mixing and matching casual and formal wear.
- Should we stick to a colour palette?
- Should we be silly? Sometimes a silly theme is perfect for family photos, such as matching onesies/PJs and props.
- Something that matches the sets?
May I bring pets?
Yes! They are part of the family too! You may bring your pet, but please ensure that they are well behaved and that you can keep them under control. Keep in mind the shorter duration of the shoot and understand that getting the right position and expression for your pet may take time. You are responsible for any messes or damages they may cause.
When should we arrive?
The shoot will start promptly at the arranged time so please be sure to arrive at least 10 mins prior to your official start time. Please come inside the studio 5 minutes before your session begin if you need to freshen up before your shoot.
