How do I even begin with Andrea and Ed’s big day? It is definitely one of the longest wedding I’ve ever photographed, yet it did not feel long at all (until after I got home and dropped my bags on my bed.. that is… :p)! I feel really, really, really (yes I really said it three times!) fortunate to have been introduced to such a wonderful couple and that I was able to assist Kevin on documenting Andrea and Ed’s wedding day.
The following shot was actually my last frame of the night, but since I usually like to start my wedding posts with a ring shot… So.. because this is my blog, I’m just gonna do it! :p

Guess what the “grown ups” are watching!

This is what the boys had to do to help Ed get to his bride.

Andrea’s so cute it kills me!

It’s not everyday that I get to play around with a lonnnnnnnnng veil.

Did I mention that the veil is reeeeally long? (on a side note, guess who’s not actually sitting haha :p)

Andrea’s been practicing her poses for the past year that it comes natural to her now.

Anyone familiar with this game?? Sorry guys, but it is the best game ever, in my mind.

Andrea and Ed, I don’t just feel that we’ve become friends, I KNOWWW that we’ve become friends.
Thank you so much for having me there to be part of your big day.
I am going to end the blog post with the following photo, but the fun does not end here! There’s still that trash the dress session that we have to do this coming summer. It’s going to be so awesome!!!!!!!

After being in Taiwan for the third time, I knew I had to bring Kevin to another place other than Taipei so he wouldn’t get bored of it. So we decided to take a trip down to the Southern part of Taiwan. Everything was spontaneous as the places we stayed were all booked the night before we get there.
We were really lucky that the places we picked were all really good!!
The first place we stayed at was in Kenting, and it’s called “Black and White”. It was right on Kenting Street so we were really close to the action!

The next stop was at Kaohsiung and this place was recommended by our host at Black & White. The concept is really cool! Basically, this entire condo building from the 12th floor up to I think 40? was meant for short or long term rentals. These units are all privately owned so each unit has a different “theme” or decoration.
The one we stayed at is called the “Meow Meow House/Room”. Lol~~! Don’t judge! This place was super cheap at $30 CAD/night! Funny thing happened, the host forgot to collect money from us. :p It wasn’t until we left the city when we realized and called her. I had to wire the money to her later. Lol~! Silly host. haha

This place was in my opinion, the best place we stayed at this entire trip. But it was also the most expensive at $86 CAD/night. This was at Tainan. The host for this place is a really handy man. Almost everything you see here is made by the him. Even the bed. Yes. THE BED!!! I had the best experience at this B&B not only because of the place, but the host made this trip unforgettable (more on that later). Wish we could have stayed longer.
After a brief stop at Taichung, we headed over to Nantou and stayed at the Sun Moon Lake. I did not take any photos of the inside, because I was busy taking pictures of the view from our balcony. OMG I could have stayed here forever.

Now here’s a little story of how close I almost, finally got myself a dog.
While travelling down to the Southern part of Taiwan, we stayed at this Bed and Breakfast where the owner also had a coffee shop at the first floor of the B&B. We were enjoying some nice coffee with free internet when this dog from the next table hopped onto my lap. Me, being a dog lover, didn’t mind the surprise at all and started petting the dog while working away on my laptop. She got so comfy that she fell asleep on my lap.
When the owner was ready to leave, the dog was not ready to leave me. She growled at her owner whenever she tried to pick her up from my lap. :p
I am sure DuDu would have come home with me if I didn’t put her on the floor so that the owner can claim her back.
Ohhhhhh Dudu. She was my dog. Even if it was only an hour.

Here I am, editing photos from one of the last weddings I did last season, and I came across a photo that my second shooter, Ron, captured. This photos explains one of the many reasons why my brides book me as their wedding photographer.
I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll say it again. I started out as a make up and hair artist (MUAH) before I became a photographer. I still have a consistant flow of MUAH jobs each year, but I am trying to concentrate more on photography as it is my one true passion.
So anyways, as I was saying, brides book me, and they get a photographer, and a MUAH throughout the day also! If they have make up with them for touch ups, I can do it for them! You’d be surprised at how many people have no idea how to put on AND take off a veil properly. :p Hair styles are often messed up if the person putting it on have no idea how to do it.
Throughout the day of the wedding, I usually adjust the veil for the bride (due to high winds and people accidentally pulling the veil from hugging the bride). During the creative session, I also suggest to my brides to take off the veil for a different look to the photos.
Here is an image of me, adjusting the veil for Sharon.

Yes, I am on vacation. But I am still working at the same time. Ohhh the luxury of being your own boss.
Ever since Sandy and Albert got married, we’ve been talking about doing their Trash the Dress session. We had lots of ideas on how and where to trash it, but after we found out that they were going to Taiwan as part of their honeymoon, the location was finally decided.
Being born from Taiwan has its advantages. I vaguely remember my parents taking me to this beautiful park called Yeliu around 20 years ago. And it was the perfect setting for day 1 of Sandy and Albert’s Trash the Dress. We got there just in time before the sun is set completely. Just in time for the beautiful sky light to be the back drop for Sandy.
Okay enough talk. Sandy is bugging me to see at least one photo before she goes to bed. ;p
This is my Winner Shot from today.
Can’t wait for tomorrow’s shoot!!! Muahahahahaha I love Taiwan!

When you think Hong Kong, you automatically think about the jungle of sky scrapers…

good food…

drinks…

and lotsssss of beer (for me, at least)…

Meeting random people at the streets of LKF.

And lastly, shopping.. (YES I FOUND MY BLING BLING 3D CASE!!! WOOT!)

This was my third trip to Hong Kong. I’ve done most of the “usual” stuff, so I was ready to see a different Hong Kong.
Knowing about my obsession with Starbucks, Kevin took me to this old style Starbucks near Central.

We went to Happy Valley for some horse race gambling! I won the first race and made $3 CAD equivalent. :p Kevin won the last race and won $1 something. muahahaha good times

Who knew this would be something you can see in Hong Kong? The view at Tai O was amazing!!

At the harbour.

I have never been to Macau so Kevin decided to take me for a late celebration of my birthday. The show we watched at City of Dreams, House of Dancing Waters, was AMAZING! It has got to be the best show I’ve ever seen!! The pool of water used in the show is the equivalent of 5 Olympic pools! (yes Kevin made fun of me because I read the pamphlet)

YES! Things POP out of the water!! Totally unexpected!!!

AND floor comes out of nowhere so people can stand on the water! It just gets better and better!!! Lol

8 days of Hong Kong. It was definitely not enough time to see everything that I wanted to see, but thanks to the help of friends and family, I was able to see Hong Kong differently.
